How I became confident
My favourite Alex Hormozi quote goes "You don't become confident by shouting affirmations in the mirror, but having an undeniable stack of evidence that you are who you say you are"
Building confidence isn't something that happens overnight. For me, it was a gradual process rooted in making small, intentional promises to myself and acting on them. It wasn't about waiting for the perfect moment or achieving huge successes; it was about showing up for myself, even in small ways.
For me, the journey started with a few key promises. I made the commitment to get up at 6 a.m. every weekday and go to the gym. It wasn’t always easy—there were mornings I wanted to stay in bed, hit snooze, or skip the workout altogether—but I pushed through. I started to realise that simply showing up for myself each morning, even when it was hard, gave me a sense of accomplishment and control.
Another promise I kept was having my protein shake after my workout—something that reinforced my commitment to taking care of my body and making healthy choices.
These small, consistent actions added up. Each time I honoured a commitment, no matter how minor it seemed, I began to feel better about myself. The more I followed through, the more I trusted myself. I realised that confidence isn’t about being perfect—it’s about showing up, taking small steps, and honouring the promises you make to yourself.
